Most of us know KENT as the water purifier brand. So it's a surprise to see KENT at the Renewable Energy India Expo with a full range of inverters and batteries. The brand has entered home power backup and solar storage with a KENT lithium battery range, all-in-one inverters and smart hybrid inverters. If you're thinking about replacing an old lead-acid inverter battery, or planning rooftop solar, this launch is worth understanding.
This guide is based on a walkthrough by the YouTube channel Product Bazar, filmed at the KENT booth at REI Expo 2026, including an interview with KENT's Joint Managing Director, Varun. We've rewritten the key details simply and added rival products you can buy on Amazon.in today.
Updated 3 November 2026. The video didn't announce prices for most of the new products, and specifications can change at launch. Details here are as shown at the expo and on official listings at the time of writing.
KENT Lithium Battery and Inverter Range: Quick Summary
KENT showed four kinds of products. First, lithium batteries that replace traditional inverter batteries, in 12V and 24V versions with 100Ah and 150Ah capacities. Second, all-in-one units that combine an inverter and battery in one box. Third, an off-grid inverter. And fourth, smart hybrid solar inverters, in single-phase and three-phase versions, with matching 51.2V lithium batteries.
The headline feature is the warranty: up to 10 years on the hybrid inverters and the 51.2V lithium batteries. The KENT lithium battery for ordinary 12V inverters is already listed on Amazon.in with a 5-year warranty. Below, we explain each product and help you decide whether it suits your home.
Why Lithium Instead of Lead-Acid?
A traditional inverter battery is lead-acid. It's heavy, needs distilled water topping-up, and usually lasts about three to five years. Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries are lighter, need no maintenance, charge much faster and last far longer. You can read about the chemistry on Wikipedia's lithium iron phosphate battery page.
In the interview, Varun explained battery life in cycles. One cycle is one full charge and discharge. Cells rated for 6,000 cycles can, in theory, last about 16β17 years at one cycle a day, which is why KENT quotes a long design life. The catch is price: lithium costs more upfront, though it can work out cheaper over ten years because you don't replace it every few years.
KENT 12V and 24V Lithium Batteries
These are the simplest way to upgrade. They work with the inverter you already have, so you only replace the battery.
In 12V, KENT showed a 100Ah battery (model A61280) and a 150Ah battery (A61920). In 24V, there's a 100Ah option and a 150Ah option (A53840). The 24V batteries are interesting: if your home uses a 24V inverter with two lead-acid batteries, one KENT battery can replace both. According to the video, the 24V 150Ah battery can run a whole home's load with an inverter of up to 3,500VA.
KENT Lithium Battery You Can Buy Now
1. KENT 12.8V 100Ah Lithium Inverter Battery
Photo: Amazon.in- Capacity: 12.8V, 100Ah, 1,280Wh.
- Backup: listed as equivalent to a 150Ah lead-acid battery.
- Charging: about 2-hour fast charge, with app monitoring.
- Warranty: 5 years on this model, as listed.
This is the KENT lithium battery most homes will consider first, because it works with any 12V inverter. Swap it in for your old lead-acid battery, and you get maintenance-free backup, faster charging and app monitoring of the battery's status.
Because 100Ah lithium delivers more usable energy than 100Ah lead-acid, KENT rates its backup close to a 150Ah lead-acid battery. If your current battery is ageing and you're tired of topping it up with water, this is a strong upgrade. Also, pair it with a good stabilizer for sensitive electronics, as we explain in our best smart TV under 10000 guide.

KENT All-in-One Inverter and Battery
KENT also showed all-in-one units, where the inverter and battery sit inside one compact box. The H100 is rated at 900VA, and a larger model is rated at 2,000VA. There's no separate battery on the floor and no tangle of cables, so you can place it neatly in a corner of your home.
All-in-one units suit flats and homes where space is tight, and families who want a clean setup. KENT hadn't listed prices for these at the time of the video, so compare them with rivals below when they arrive.
KENT Hybrid Solar Inverters
Hybrid inverters connect to the grid, solar panels and a battery at the same time. They decide when to use solar, when to charge the battery and when to draw from the grid. KENT's single-phase hybrid inverters come in 3 kW, 5 kW and 6 kW ratings, and they're IP65 rated for dust and water resistance.
The standout features are smart ones. There's a touch display that shows grid power, battery charging current and more. Each hybrid inverter includes a 4G data logger with a SIM and a five-year data plan, so it sends data to KENT's app, with servers based in India. The app shows how much solar you used, how many power cuts occurred and how much you saved. The inverters also handle short overloads, up to 200% for about 10 seconds.
Changeover Time: Why Under 5 ms Matters
When the power goes, an inverter has to switch your home to battery power. KENT says its hybrid inverters switch in under 5 milliseconds, faster than the roughly 10 milliseconds many rivals claim. At that speed, computers don't restart and AC compressors don't trip.
That matters if you work from home, have sensitive electronics or run an air conditioner on backup. It's one of the more practical improvements in the range, beyond the smart display and app.
Three-Phase Hybrid Inverters for Bigger Homes
For bigger homes and small businesses, KENT showed three-phase hybrid inverters, called the G3 series, in 10 kW, 12 kW and 15 kW ratings. Up to six units can run in parallel, so with the 15 kW model you can handle loads of up to about 90 kW.
These are for large solar installations, farmhouses and commercial buildings rather than typical flats or small homes. If that's you, KENT's installers and EPC partners would design the system.
KENT 51.2V Lithium Batteries for Solar
The hybrid inverters pair with KENT's 51.2V lithium iron phosphate batteries, available in 5 kWh, 12 kWh and 16 kWh sizes. A cut-open demo showed 16 cells of 100Ah, a BMS (battery management system) on top, and the MCB and connections at the top for easy access. The cells are from EVE, a tier-one manufacturer, and KENT programs the BMS itself.
Two features stand out. The batteries support full 1C discharge, meaning a 5 kWh battery can run a 5 kW load, while many rivals are limited to 0.5C and trip under heavier loads. And the touchscreen shows battery information in Hindi as well as English, which helps technicians. KENT gives these batteries a 10-year warranty with any inverter and quotes a design life of 15β20 years.
The 10-Year Warranty, Explained
The hybrid inverters carry a 10-year warranty when used with a KENT battery. With another brand's battery, the warranty drops to five years, because the inverter can't communicate fully with a third-party battery. The 51.2V lithium batteries get a 10-year warranty whichever inverter you use.
Compare that with traditional lead-acid batteries, which often need replacing two or three times in ten years. A long warranty doesn't make a product perfect, but it shows the brand's confidence and protects you from early failures.
Service: KENT's Biggest Question
KENT's water purifier service network is large, and the reviewer said it's better than many rivals. For inverters, though, the network is still being built. Varun said KENT aims to have service centres in every district, using some existing purifier centres and adding new ones as sales grow.
For remote villages, the plan is that installers give first-level service, and if an inverter fails, KENT replaces it quickly to keep power running. That sounds good, but it's new, so check service availability in your area before buying.

Is the KENT Lithium Battery Worth Buying?
If you simply want to replace a tired lead-acid battery, the KENT 12.8V lithium battery is a sensible choice, with a 5-year warranty and app monitoring. Compare its price with Microtek's similar battery, and pick the one with better service in your area.
For solar homes, KENT's hybrid inverters and 51.2V batteries look very promising on paper: 10-year warranties, under-5 ms changeover, 1C discharge and a smart app with Indian data servers. Because the range is new, wait for prices and early user reviews, and confirm service in your district before committing.
How Much Backup Will You Get?
Here's a simple way to estimate. A 12.8V 100Ah battery stores about 1,280Wh. After inverter losses, you can use roughly 1,000β1,100Wh. So if your home runs three fans, four LED lights and a TV, about 300W in total, you'll get roughly three to three and a half hours of backup.
With a 24V 150Ah battery, about 3,840Wh, the same load runs for around eleven to twelve hours. However, heavy appliances change the picture quickly. A fridge, for example, adds a lot when its compressor runs, so check our best refrigerator under 20000 guide for energy-efficient models if backup time matters to you.
Lithium Battery Safety at Home
Lithium iron phosphate is the safest common lithium chemistry for homes. It's far more stable than the lithium batteries in phones, and it doesn't release gas while charging, unlike lead-acid. Still, safety depends on a good BMS, which protects against overcharging, deep discharge, short circuits and overheating.
KENT says it designs its own BMS and uses tier-one cells. In addition, keep any inverter battery in a ventilated, dry spot, away from water and direct sunlight. Also, don't open the battery case yourself; leave repairs to authorised technicians.
KENT Lithium Battery for Solar: Is Going Hybrid Worth It?
If you already pay a high electricity bill and have a sunny roof, a hybrid system can cut bills and give backup during cuts. The hybrid inverter runs your home on solar by day, charges the battery, and switches to the battery or grid when needed.
Meanwhile, the KENT lithium battery range for solar, with 10-year warranties and full 1C discharge, is designed exactly for this. The investment is large, though, so get a proper site survey and compare quotes from a few installers. Government rooftop solar subsidies may also apply, so ask your installer about current schemes.
What We Still Don't Know
The video didn't share prices for the all-in-one units, hybrid inverters or 51.2V batteries. Without prices, it's hard to judge value against Luminous, Microtek and other solar brands. Availability in smaller towns is also unclear while KENT builds its service network.
So treat this as an exciting first look. Once prices and early user reviews arrive, the picture will be clearer. Until then, the 12.8V battery on Amazon.in is the easiest way to try KENT's power range.
How to Choose a Lithium Inverter Battery
First, match the voltage to your inverter: 12V for most single-battery home inverters, 24V for two-battery setups. Second, choose capacity by backup need; 100Ah suits fans, lights and a TV for a few hours, while 150Ah gives longer backup.
Third, check the BMS, warranty and charging current your inverter supports. Fourth, prefer LFP chemistry for safety and long life. Finally, check the service network. A KENT lithium battery, or any rival, is only as good as the support behind it.
Lithium Battery Price vs Lead-Acid: The Real Cost
A lithium inverter battery usually costs more than a lead-acid battery of similar backup, sometimes nearly double. That upfront gap puts many people off. But look at ten years instead of one.
A lead-acid battery typically needs replacing every three to five years, plus regular water top-ups and occasional servicing. A lithium battery with a long warranty may last the full ten years with no maintenance. So over a decade, the total cost can be similar or even lower with lithium, while you also get faster charging and a lighter, cleaner unit. That's the real case for a KENT lithium battery, or any good LFP rival.
Mistakes to Avoid With Lithium Batteries
Don't connect a lithium battery to a very old inverter without checking compatibility; some older inverters charge at settings meant for lead-acid. Ask the seller or brand whether your inverter model is supported.
Also, don't judge only by Ah. A 100Ah lithium battery gives more usable energy than a 100Ah lead-acid one, so compare watt-hours. And don't skip professional installation for solar hybrid systems. For more home tech, see our inverter vs non-inverter AC guide.
Final Word
The KENT lithium battery and hybrid inverter range is a bold move from a water purifier brand into home energy. The 12.8V lithium battery is available now and is a solid lead-acid replacement. The new all-in-one units, 3β15 kW hybrid inverters and 51.2V solar batteries bring 10-year warranties, very fast changeover and smart app monitoring. The open questions are price and service reach, so compare with Microtek and Luminous, and check support in your area before you buy.
