Picking the right luggage

  • Cabin size: most Indian airlines allow a cabin bag of about 55 × 35 × 25 cm and 7 kg. Check your airline before buying.
  • Check-in sizes: medium (about 65–68 cm) suits a week's trip; large (75 cm+) is for long trips — but watch the 15–23 kg check-in limit.
  • Hard shell (polycarbonate) protects better and handles rain; soft shell is lighter and has extra pockets.
  • Four 360° spinner wheels are much easier to move than two wheels.
  • A TSA or number lock, and a warranty of 3 years or more, are signs of a better-made bag.

Frequently asked questions

Polycarbonate or polypropylene?+

Polycarbonate is lighter and more impact-resistant; polypropylene is cheaper and still durable. Both are better than ABS for frequent flyers.

Is a set of three trolleys worth it?+

If you travel with family, a set is usually much cheaper per bag. If you travel alone, one good cabin bag and one medium check-in bag cover most trips.
